Every year, Sport England distributes funds to projects in England that are in line with their goals and strategy.
At the beginning of October, it was public that Motitech is one of the companies to receive funding from Sport England - earmarked to improve the health of the population over the age of 55.
Every year Sport England distribute funds to good projects that activate the population. This year, part of the funds were invested in the newly started Active Ageing Fund. This fund has a particular focus on the seniors of the population. In total, 700 applied for the available funds.
- The fact that we are the only foreign company to receive funding is recognition of our product. It will be exciting and interesting to work on improving the health of the population over the age of 55 in UK - especially together with so many other great companies, says senior advisor at Motitech As, Roald Kvam.
5.8 million inactive
With a funding of £250,000 together with own contribution, Motitech will now test Motiview in the UK market. It will be intense, but exciting work. Figures from Sport England indicates that 36% of the population over 55 are considered inactive. That amounts to 5.8 million people - and the number is constantly growing.
- Being active is one of the most important things people can do to maintain health and wellbeing as they age. We are delighted to support Motitech with National Lottery funding to enable older people to live happier and healthier, says Sport England chief executive Mike Diaper in a press release.
Motitech is now establishing a subsidiary in UK to be as close as possible to the project over the next year.
